Did you receive an invitation from the Dutch Tax Authorities to file your income tax return in the Netherlands? Please be aware that the tax return has, in principle, to be filed electronically. You can use any of the software programs (MijnBelastingdienst or the Tax Return App) available at the website of the Dutch Tax Authorities to prepare and file your income tax return in the Netherlands. In this situation, you will need your DigiD.
Not comfortable with preparation and filing of your own tax return! We are pleased to assist you. Dutch Tax Returns has their own program to prepare and file Dutch personal income tax returns. We do not need your DigiD as we use our own electronic signature.
Via the website of the Dutch Tax Authorities, the tax return cannot be filed until 1 March 2019. We can start with preparation of your tax return at the beginning of February 2019 as our program is available as of that date. The tax return 2018 needs to be filed before 1 May 2019. When you file your tax return before 1 April, the Dutch Tax Authorities guarantee that you receive a (preliminary) assessment before 1 July. If you file your tax return between 1 April and 1 May, they achieve to provide you with a (preliminary) assessment before 1 July. In case you file after 1 May, it will last approximately 3 months and even 6 months in case of an M-form, before you receive your refund. Unsure if you will meet the deadline, we can file a request for extension.
In case you haven’t received an invitation from the Dutch tax authorities, it may be worth filing a tax return in the Netherlands if one of the following situations apply:
